What Should You Log?
You don’t need to log everything in detail — just enough to guide and motivate you. For example:
- Warm-up routines
- Technical goals (e.g., arpeggios, shifting, tone work)
- Sight-reading exercises
- Specific sections you're working on
- Tempo benchmarks and metronome markings
- Memory work or visualization
- What you accomplished today
- Goals or notes for your next session
Tips for Success
- Keep it simple — one or two lines per session is enough
- Don’t overthink it — it's a tool, not a burden
- Know your “why” — track for motivation, progress, focus, etc.
- Set goals — short-, medium-, and long-term targets
- Be consistent — even short logs build momentum
- Commit — try logging every day, even rest days
